Getting The Most out of Your Merch: Leveraging Your Swag to Strengthen Critical Relationships

By Renee Kutrubis, Client Success Director

You’ve put your swag to use to engage new clients, onboard new employees, and likely as thank-you gifts — but have you considered how you can utilize your branded merch in other ways?

Let Your Merch Be Multi-Purposeful

Providing excellent customer service isn’t just about cheerful interactions. Enabling your team to reach out to clients to surprise and delight when the unexpected happens is a powerful touchpoint. While unfortunate events are typically unforeseen, you don’t need to be unprepared! Having quality corporate gifts on-hand along with a hand-written note can make all the difference between losing a client and converting them to a loyal life-long client.

Let Your Merch be the Message

We worked with a large travel company who wanted to create comfort in their sometimes-lengthy boarding process. The result, the birth of a soft and fuzzy travel companion who could make appearances in advance of boarding times and now at events, media, and the like, naturally delivering a warm and welcoming feeling.  This character’s persona delivers this warm and welcoming feel in person, as well as with their online and print appearances.

This strategic use of merch brought a more human component to the big brand and created a line of campaigns and related branded merch.

Trinkets or Touchpoints?

It’s no surprise that we love to create gorgeous business gifts, but, more importantly, the merch we create are designed go above and beyond for our clients. Others can create beautiful pieces complete with gorgeous packaging just like we do, but we’ve found that most stop there.

At Summit, our team is invested in ensuring that the campaigns we build deliver — and we’re not just talking about shipping packages. Whether it’s an internal team or external audience, we work to determine the right media and message to address your engagement gap.
