We are constantly trying to practice what we preach here at Summit Group, specifically when it comes to environmental sustainability. Just recently Mark Becker, our Division President in DC, suggested that we participate in Dell Reconnect which has a partnership with Goodwill Industries. The program encourages consumers to recycle their old computer equipment of any brand, working or not, to one of Goodwill’s 2,000 participating locations in the United States or Canada. Goodwill makes certain all items are refurbished or recycled responsibly – so beyond donating goods, there’s nothing you need to worry about. According to Dell’s website, “since 2004, we’ve kept over 250 million pounds of e-waste out of landfills” which is an astonishing amount and something we wanted to continue supporting by donating our own computer equipment.
We greatly appreciate both Dell’s and our client Goodwill’s commitment to environmental sustainability and are thrilled that we were able to be part of this initiative. When asked how Mark felt about the program, he commented that, “Summit Group is proud to participate in such a worthwhile program. This is a win win for Summit Group, Goodwill and Dell. We are especially happy to support one of our customers in such a great way.”
We look forward to other opportunities to lend a hand or reduce our carbon footprint and hope you are doing the same, not just today (Earth Day) but every day of the year!
Think we might be worthy of a conversation? We'd love to hear what you have in mind.
